This Privacy Policy explains what information RI DUI Pro collects, how it is used and protected, and the specific ways the application accesses data through Google APIs. RI DUI Pro ("RI DUI Pro," "we," "us") is operated by The Law Office of Thomas C. Thomasian, Esq., LLC.
Who we are
RI DUI Pro is a private, invitation-only case-management application for licensed Rhode Island criminal defense attorneys. It is operated by:
The Law Office of Thomas C. Thomasian, Esq., LLC

Information we collect
- Account information. The email address you sign in with, and authentication data needed to keep your account secure.
- Case information you enter. The matter details you choose to record — for example, defendant names, charges, summons and case numbers, court dates, notes, and the documents the application generates for you.
- Google account data. If you connect your Google account, the application accesses your Google Drive and Gmail to the limited extent described below.
- Basic technical data. Standard server and security logs generated when you use the application.
How we access Google user data
RI DUI Pro requests the minimum Google permissions required for its features. When you connect your Google account, you are shown exactly which permissions are requested and may decline. The permissions and their use are:
| Permission (scope) | What it allows | How RI DUI Pro uses it |
|---|---|---|
Google Drivedrive.file |
Per-file access limited to files and folders the application itself creates or that you open with it. | Creates a Drive folder for each case in your own Google Drive and saves the documents and notes RI DUI Pro generates into it. It cannot see, read, or access any other files already in your Google Drive. |
Gmailgmail.compose |
Create draft messages in your Gmail account. | Prepares a draft email for you — for example, a draft to a court clerk or police department with a generated case document attached — and places it in your Gmail so you can review and send it yourself. It does not read, search, send, delete, or modify any of your existing email. |
Basic profileuserinfo.email |
Your Google account's email address. | Identifies which Google account is connected so documents are saved to, and drafts are created in, the correct account. |
RI DUI Pro only ever creates drafts; it never sends email on your behalf, and it never reads your inbox. It only accesses Drive files it created; it cannot reach the rest of your Drive.
Limited Use disclosure. RI DUI Pro's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other application will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
This means we do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not transfer it to others except as needed to provide and improve the features you use or as required by law, and we do not allow humans to read it except with your consent, for security or to comply with applicable law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized. Google user data is never used to train, develop, or improve any generalized or artificial-intelligence model.
How we use your information
- To provide the application's features — organizing cases, generating documents, saving files to your Drive, and preparing email drafts in your Gmail.
- To authenticate you and keep your account and data secure.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the reliability of the application.
- To communicate with you about your account or the service.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
Document drafting assistance
Certain features (such as assembling a hardship affidavit) use a third-party AI service to help draft text from the case information you choose to submit for that purpose. Only the case information you provide for that specific task is sent, solely to produce your draft. Your Google user data is not sent to this service and is not used for any AI training.
How your information is stored and protected
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Case data is stored in a hosted database with per-account access controls, so each attorney can access only their own cases.
- The credentials used to connect your Google account are stored securely and used only to provide the features you enabled.
- Access to the application is limited to approved, authenticated accounts.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of reputable providers to operate the application. They process data only to provide their service to us and are bound by their own data-protection obligations:
- Supabase — secure database and authentication.
- Netlify — application hosting.
- Google — Drive and Gmail features you connect, as described above.
- Anthropic — AI drafting assistance for the limited text you submit to that feature.
- SignWell — electronic signature, when you use it for a fee agreement.
Data retention and deletion
- You may disconnect your Google account at any time, which revokes RI DUI Pro's access to your Drive and Gmail. You can also remove access directly from your Google Account's security settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- You may request deletion of your account and the case data associated with it by emailing tct@thomasianlaw.com. Documents already saved to your own Google Drive remain in your Drive under your control.
Confidentiality
RI DUI Pro is used by attorneys to manage client matters that may include confidential and privileged information. We treat that information accordingly and do not access it except as needed to provide the service or as required by law.
Children
RI DUI Pro is a professional tool for licensed attorneys and is not directed to, or intended for use by, children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the application.
